The Pros and Cons of Rabbit Fur
It’s not unusual to choose rabbit fur for apparel and accessories; rabbit is often chosen as a trim for hats, bags and gloves. Rabbit is soft and tactile with a warm and cosy finish. We love items trimmed with rabbit fur, which tends to be super soft and isn’t prone to malting. Looking for cosy winter accessories? Rabbit is the perfect choice! However rabbit fur coats and larger items are relatively rare.
Rabbit fur is both warm and affordable but it isn’t the most durable fur available on the market. Some rabbit fur can shed, even when it has been chemically treated. It is also not considered as warm as more premium pelts.
If you’re looking for an affordable fur then rabbit could be a great option, but people prefer to use rabbit pelts purely for accessories: look for decadent rabbit trimmed items and marvel at how wonderfully soft they are.
I think there are special, unique, different kinds of rabbit such us Orylag the most famous brand of rex rabbit that come from France. Orylag fur is really warm and soft more than chinchilla. The leather is very good to work with. I found this article about the traceability of Orylag skins read it.

Where Does the Best Rabbit Fur Come From?
Decided that rabbit is the right fur for you?
Then you’re probably wondering where the best place to buy rabbit fur is! If, like us, you’re based in Europe then you’re in luck: most of the world’s high-quality rabbit fur stock is produced here! Spain and France are especially well known for their pelts.
For more affordable rabbit fur, China produces a commercial grade of the pelt (low quality and not sure they respect the rules of sustainability).
So if you want to buy rabbit skins I advice Franche or Spain that major part of farmers respect respect the rules of the fur sector.
