The new bags collection makes the ancient glories of Venice resurrect and takes us on an exciting journey suspended between past and present, between East and West... From the Doges’ land up to China... All together we can retrace the same Silk Road described by Marco Polo in his legendary Million...

So, even ours is a way forward, surely shorter but so rich that it seems endless... To mark the way, there are the Venetian designers Silvano Arnoldo and Massimiliano Battois... Finalists in the 2010 Who Is On Next? for the accessories category, on the strength of their decennial experience in some of the most important international Maison, from Laura Biagiotti to Roberta di Camerino, in 2011 the two stylists have decided to give birth to an all-theirs collection, introduced during the MFW in the presence of Anna Wintour and Franca Sozzani.

 Involved with tradition and yet so extraordinarily bold and futuristic, for the 2012-13 A/W the Arnoldo][Battois brand offers a series of great impact and extraordinary craftsmanship bags. Exposed at Limited/Unlimited, the Elephant is the iconic item of the brand. The drapery of the classic statuesque are sources of inspiration and they are filtered from the experience of artists as Madeleine Vionnet and Mariano Fortuny to develop a personal idea of accessory; volume, shape and texture are based on the concept of fluid movement. A leather bag with an organic volume where the concept of dynamism is exasperate. The matter - a dark blue soft plunge napa - undergoes the same process: pleating become cuts that emphasize the three‐dimensional look and attack the volume, so that light and shade can sculpt the surface. The theme of the collection introduced at Room Service is instead the spirit of the time and the ghosts of the past that come to life through new tales, leaving their mark on present after thinning as a dense smoke…Shiny black shaggy fur show the image of exotic Birds of Paradise, waxed wooden friezes recline on soft red ochre nubuck with details in patent leather, olive cortex calf shapes contrast with neutral tones smooth surface, waxed figures illuminate graphite nubuck surfaces; The Doctor Bag is declined in different solutions: from the classic cognac vegetable-tanned calf to the shaggy fur combined with calves and patent-leather in the tones of iron up to two-tone pomegranate lacquer python. In the decadent, imaginary Venetian palace where the story begins, there’s no option but to end the tour with the classic bags: the Falena, the Colibrì and again the Elefante, allproposed in clay pongè napa with gold accessories...
